Videos...

We figured out how to get the videos from Simon's phone and put them online! You should see Hannah...She's a video hog. She's done at least 10 now :) . I'll have to upload more later.

This is Hannah singing "The Best of Both Worlds" by Hannah Montana...

And I have to post Andrew, too...This is him doing his wheelie. It's a little long, though...

May Flowers

I've got all the details for my May mini sessions now. This one is going to be one day only...Saturday, May 24 @ Martin's Garden Center on Belle Chasse Hwy (right next to Adam's Catfish). Since there is limited space, the session will be short and sweet, and I'll be booking every 30 minutes. Unlike my regular sessions where I proof around 20 images, I'm only going to proof about 5 images. I'll have the same packages for this mini that I've used in the past. They start at just $50 and include one 8x10, one 5x7, and 8 wallets. This time, I'll also be offering a premium wall folio. It is 10x20 with 3 openings for 5x7s. It's absolutely beautiful...I'll post a few images of my studio sample in a few days.

Shoot me an email at christy@christyparrottphotography.com if you're interested in scheduling an appointment. I hope you all can bring the kids out to celebrate spring with me!

Family from this afternoon...

Here's a preview from another great family! These are my neighbors. You may remember Cynthia from my previous post about the Renaissance Salon & Spa. This is her beautiful family!

I love it when clients listen to my clothing suggestions :)...Don't they look great in black!!

This is Mr. M...This is one of Andrew's best friends!

And the beautiful Miss M...I absolutely love this shot of her running!!

I had fun photographing you guys today! You made my job very easy :). I'll have your gallery up in about a week for you.

**********************************************************************************
Oh...& I wanted to share some great news! I'm a new member of the Greater New Orleans Professional Photographers Guild. They meet once a month and bring a PPA speaker in as well. It's a great way to continue my photographic education. Anyways...The good news...The photo below came in first place in the portrait division :)! It's not really a big print competition, but it still made me very proud!

One from today's Mini...

Just wanted to put up these little preview from this morning. These were all shot at one of my favorite parks in this area...Audubon Park. It's absolutely beautiful down there! Every time I go there, I always end up seeing at least 5 people with cameras just like mine. I was so excited to find out that the mom of these little cuties is also a photography lover! We could have walked a little more for some variety, but the temperature warmed up too fast to enjoy being outside. Instead, we opted for a nice shaded spot with lots of clovers.

This one was shot under the amphitheater...I love the light there & the background!

Here's the clover shots....

I just love the interaction here...You can see it, but it's actually a feather that big bro is holding and rubbing the side of lil' sis's face.
The themed shot...April Showers...

I'm so sorry about the misunderstanding about a rain machine. I still love the look of the rain gear, and I hope that you will, too! I'll have your gallery up within the week. Thanks for being good sports about it all, and I hope to shoot with you sometime soon!

April Mini sessions....still booking

Hey guys! Just wanted to let everyone know that I've still got appointments available for both Wed. & Saturday of the April Showers event. I'd love to see more of you get in on this one because kids and umbrellas and galoshes are the cutest! It's not too late either...I've seen some cute stuff at Stride-Rite, Target, Old Navy, Kids Gap & Gymboree :) It's all over the place!

And because I can't post a blog without sharing a photo :)...

I'm still busy working on editing the Christening photos of little baby J. She is an absolute doll. In fact, I wanted to share this one because it reminds me of a porcelain doll!

Gotta get back to work now :)

Christening

Today was my first time at a Catholic Mass. It was quite an experience. Everything was so organized. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about going because of all the rituals and readings that I had heard about. However, the service was beautiful, and I was honored to be apart of it all. I was there to capture the Christening ceremony of a beautiful baby girl. I'm going to go ahead and show a large showcase because I've got so many images that it was hard to sift through and find just 2 or 3.

Mom, Dad & Little J

Dad, Mom, Little J, Big Brother with Father Roy
Look at this gorgeous smile!

Sweet Kisses...

Can you get any more adorable than this :)
I love this smile!

Almost forgot...We were at Holy Spirit Catholic Church here in New Orleans. Everyone I met from the church was so warm and welcoming! They are doing great work here.
Just had to share this beautiful sunset image with you. This was what I was greeted with as soon as I turned off Belle Chass Highway.

Thanks again for choosing me to be apart of such an important milestone in your child's life! It was truly an honor.

These will go rain or shine (of course not if it's storming). The dates are April 23 & 26....that's a Wednesday and Saturday. I'll book all day with appointments starting every 45 minutes. I've already got a few people signed up for this so don't wait to schedule your appointment!

Good for boys or girls...We may have to do some puddle splashing for boys, too!

I've got this cute tutu that's available for use...just let me know and I'll bring it!

In loving memory of Sarge...

We had a sad day at our house today. We lost one of our sweet little guinea pigs during the night last night. His name was Sarge, and he was only about one and a half years old. He was the sweetest little pig. He had the cutest little squeaks that he'd make when he wanted to get our attention. We'll all miss him so much.

Andrew took the news really hard. Every time he thinks of him, he will start to cry. We gave him a nice burial tonight under a big tree near our house. The kids topped it with little white shells, and Andrew put a cross made from sticks and a flower on top.

I just wanted to share some of our good memories that we made while our little Sarge was in our lives.

Who couldn't love that face!
This was Easter last year...

Always curious...

Here he is with his buddy Ron. We hope he won't be too lonely without his little cagemate.
