My kids playing...

Just wanted to share a little of our day with you. The weather was just about perfect today...not too hot and not too cold! It was a pretty overcast day for the most part which gave off a nice soft light all day long. After running all my errands and making a commissary run, I had to get the kids out for some fun shots. These are just a few of my favorites. Feel free to go to my FlickR site to see the rest of them. The light was so yummy!

Here's Hannah having some fun on the spider web...

My handsome little Andrew. He's such a big kid now!

More of my little monkey...

Just showing off his cast-free hand. Better use two hands before you end up in another one!!

It's all fun and games...

Just sharing a few photos from Texas. We went with Simon's parents to Fire Mountain, and the kids got to play putt putt golf and lots of other fun stuff.

Working on back lighting...

More back lighting...I'm starting to like it :)

Love this lighting...

Just thought it was sweet...

I'll share more later :)

I've almost got the details worked out for the spring mini sessions. I had planned to do an indoor, studio style setup, but I've decided to go with portraits in the park. I'm still deciding between two locations. The first one I'm considering is Audubon Park. I know there are plenty of opportunities there for some great shots! I'm also looking into the Longue Vue Gardens. The only thing with this place is that there would be a higher session fee that would cover the cost of doing a session on their grounds. I do think it'd be well worth it since it's a beautiful location, though. I just don't want to turn anyone off from my low cost mini sessions by charging more for this specific location. Do you have a preference? Shoot me an email if your interested, and I'll make sure to keep you informed.

Car Troubles...

So we're sitting here in a Mazda dealership in Alexandria because my car broke down on us yesterday as we were driving back to New Orleans. We had to be towed here and by the time the tow truck got us here, the parts department was closed. At least, they got the part ordered for this morning. We still ended up being out for the hotel room for the night since they couldn't give us a rental car to get us home. We never travel light...it was all 4 of us plus the dog and two guinea pigs and a full load in the back of the car! At least I had my computer with me :).

I'll post some photos of our time in East Texas soon enough. Just wanted to let you all know that we're still alive...maybe I should say "knock on wood" to that one! You know it was one of those days when I was scared to say what else could go wrong!

Growing up so fast...

It's truly amazing how fast kids grow up. I know it sounds like a cliche, but it is really the truth. Andrew is now six years old and is so grown up. He's really a good kid. He has a great sense of humor and has a beautiful singing voice (even if he doesn't like anyone to hear him). He loves the Jonas Brothers and watching Disney TV shows like "The Suite Life of Zach & Cody."

This morning I hosted a Pampered Chef cooking show for my friend Jen. Andrew wanted to dress up for the event since so many of our friends and neighbors were coming over. He choose this button-up, collared shirt. It matched perfectly with his cast, which comes off tomorrow. Until now, I've only got a few snapshots with him in his cast so today was the perfect opportunity to remember this time in his childhood.

In case you don't know ...he broke it falling off the monkey bars.

Harley couldn't stay out of the room!

Andrew really loves him, though :)

I love his laugh!

We were talking about his girlfriend ;-)

More from Mardi Gras

Just wanted to share a few images from today. We went down to the parade route and watched two parades roll by. The kids had a blast and got a ton of beads!

Andrew and Hannah went down to the street vendor to buy a cool hat, but ended up with these noisy horns! At least they caught the attention of the people on the floats :)

The front of one of the floats...just thought it was pretty and Andrew loves eagles!

Hannah showing off her wand that they threw especially to her!

Thank you kisses for letting her go to the parade!
